Inappropriate Psychic Endearments

Why do 'Psychics' use Endearments & Sweet Talk?

In my Australian psychic reading editorial today I'm writing about the misuse of endearments in phone psychic readings. Do you feel uncomfortable when phone psychics use endearments and sweet talk throughout a psychic reading?

Sweetie, Honey, Gorgeous, Beautiful...

The reason you phone a psychic is to receive clear and detailed guidance to help you gain greater clarity in your life, but some customers are finding that psychics are using inappropriate endearments to win them over.

When inappropriate terms of endearment like baby, hon, angel or sweetheart are regularly used throughout the psychic reading, they make many customers uncomfortable.

Sweet Talking 'Psychics'

Recently I had a new client who was relieved to hear I didn't "sweet talk" her. She told me that many psychic chat services she had called had tried to charm her, but didn't offer readings of substance.

I understood what she was referring to because on the occasions I have watched video psychics on YouTube, I’ve heard the sweet talking baby talk.

It appears that these so-called psychics are trying to distract from their lack of psychic skills with insincere sweet talk and flattery. They are trying to create an automatic level of rapport by charming their customers into a false sense of ease. However, anyone who has experienced the over zealous sales person who uses the same type of endearments as phone and TV psychics, knows how inappropriate they can be.

Whether or not the psychic chat companies are doing this intentionally to make you feel supported isn't the only issue, it's about respecting online customers and not overstepping your personal boundaries.

You need to know that a psychic is aware of appropriate behaviour, in and out of a business workplace. There are some people who like to express affection and that's okay in personal relationships and friendships, but when it comes to using a psychic chat service that is using infantilizing or sexist terms of endearments, you have the right to say, “please don't call me "babe" or use any other ingratiating endearment without my permission”.

Mirroring Methods used by So-Called Psychics

Personally I recommend that if a psychic business is using mirroring endearment techniques (NLP rapport methods), be that fawning sweet talk or covert hypnotic suggestion to charm you, it is okay to let the psychic know you find it condescending.

Ask them to stop sweet talking you, and in this way you can identify if the sweet talk has been used as a charm method to stop you from identifying whether or not they have credible psychic skills.

You have the right to be treated respectfully.

In my phone psychic readings, I am always honest and polite and I explain the method I use before the reading commences. I ask you if you're comfortable and always treat you with professional courtesy.

I don't need to use any modalities like tarot or angel cards. I tune into your auric field using a spiritual breath technique, gifted to me by spirit many years ago. This way I know what's going on throughout the reading. I have never use endearments during a reading because I go straight to the areas I am spiritually guided to concentrate on.

Be discerning about psychic charmers and owners who want to try to win your approval with over-the-top complimentary endearments. This way you'll find credible and accurate psychics.
